Head Coach

Job Description: 

The individual is responsible for managing all aspects of the team’s practices and games.  The coach and their staff are expected to follow and implement the curriculum for the specific age group assigned.  The coach is also responsible for helping manage all the players and parents on the team. 

Time Commitment:

The Head Coach can expect to volunteer 4-6 hours per week from mid-August to mid-November.  Practices are generally held 2 nights per week from August to middle of October.  In U10 and younger, one practice a week will be overseen by a club staff coach the 2nd practice that week will be managed by the team’s coaches.  The coaches are expected to help work with their teams at both weekly practice sessions.

Selection Process:

The Age Group Coordinator along with the Intramural Coordinator is responsible for the identification and selection of coaches.  The process starts by Volunteering on your child’s registration application.  If selected as the Head Coach for your child's team, your child's registration and the family's volunteer fee will be fully refunded. 

Pre-Requisites:

US Youth Soccer and EPYS require that all coaches and managers complete a series of background checks, registrations and trainings before stepping on the field for practices or games. These requirements are intended to protect players and coaches alike. For first year coaches, this process takes about 2-3 hours and can be done over several days. All coaches (paid and volunteer) must submit:

PA Criminal Background Check
PA Child Welfare Check
FBI Fingerprints or Affidavit 
SafeSport Abuse Prevention Training Certificate 
CDC Heads Up Concussion Certificate

Club Support and Coaching Development:

The club provides a specific curriculum based upon the ages of the players on the team.  The curriculum provides individual lesson plans and expectations for the individual players and teams.  In addition, the club sponsors regular coach’s meetings and symposiums to help further develop the coaching skills of individual coaches.  Finally, the club will reimburse up to 50% of a National/State approved Soccer license coaching course(s) and licensing certificate programs.

The club will have available additional Soccer Balls, practice cones, and scrimmage vests if needed. 


Assistant Coach

Job Description: 

The individual is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in running practices and games.  The assistant coach is expected to follow and implement the curriculum for the specific age group assigned.  If needed the Assistant Coach may be needed to act as the Head coach for a team.

Time Commitment:

The Coach can expect to volunteer 4-6 hours per week from mid-August to mid-November. 

Selection Process:

The process starts by Volunteering on your child’s registration application. The teams head coach is responsible for selecting the Assistant Coach. 2 per team maximum.   If selected as an Assistant Coach for your child's team, family's volunteer fee will be fully refunded.

Team Manager (Travel)

Job Description: 

The individual is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in managing the administration of the team.  Sample duties include maintaining the team calendar of events, registering the team in various leagues and tournaments, reserving practice and game fields with the club scheduler, managing uniform ordering process for team. Maintaining team finances. 

Time Commitment:

The Team Manager can expect to volunteer 4-6 hours per month.

Selection Process:

The Head coach of the team is responsible for selection of the position.. If selected as the Team Manager for your child's team, family's volunteer fee will be fully refunded. The travel coordinator will submit a list to the club for reimbursement

Field Site Coordinator

Job Description: 

The individual is responsible for coordinating all field set-up and lining requirements for your assigned location(s). Duties include organizing initial field set-up dates and times; ensuring all goals are properly placed with appropriate weights or anchors; Goal nets are properly attached, and all game fields are lined throughout the season; any advertising and field signage is clearly displayed appropriately around assigned locations.  Field Paint and Liners are available for volunteer to access. 

Time Commitment:

The site coordinator can expect to volunteer 10 to 12 hours in the month prior to the start of the season organizing and coordinating the initial field set-up day at your assign location.  During the season 1 to 2 hours per week making sure the fields have been lined and are safe to play. 

Selection Process:

The Executive Director is responsible for the selection of Field site Coordinators.  The process starts by  contacting the executive Director via e-mail at exec-dir@warringtonsoccerpa.org . If selected as a Field Site Coordinator, your child's registration and the family's volunteer fee will be fully refunded.

Pre-Requisites:

No specific pre-requisites exist for this position.  However, the most successful coordinators are generally comfortable using spreadsheets and technology. Past field lining experience is helpful but not required.

Fields

Job Description: 

Responsible for the initial set-up of individual fields and maintaining the lines on the game fields through out the season.  The club has several set-up days in late July to early August for the Fall season and in Mid March for the Spring season.  Once feild is set-up the fields will need to be repainted on a weekly basis.  Depending upon the exact field, the fields need to be lined on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday Afternoon depending upon the weekly schedule of games for any field.

Time Commitment:

Initial field set-up can take up to 2-3 hours with a 4 person crew.  The weekly field re-lining should take less than 1 hour including set-up and putting away the equipment. 

Selection Process:

The process starts by volunteering on your child’s registration application for fields.  To register for individual assignments go to the Home page of the website and look under field lining volunteer link to register for a date and field.  Your family volunteer fee will be refunded once a minimum of 5 hours have been completed.

League Coordinator-Travel

Job Description: 

The individual is responsible for attending league meetings. 

Time Commitment:

The Team Manager can expect to volunteer 4-6 hours per month.

Intramural Uniform & Equipment Distribution -

Job Description: 

 

Volunteers needed for a variety of administrative tasks which may include uniform sorting and distribution, equipment sorting and distribution to coaches, picture day assistance and distribution.

 

Time Commitment: 

 

Varies based on the task(s) the volunteer selects.  

Sponsorship

Job Description: 

The individual is responsible for bringing in new sponsors for the Club. The sponsorship volunteer is expected to follow the sponsorship packages and pricing outlined in our promotional material.  In addition, the sponsorship volunteer can earn additional discounts on future registration fees based on the amount of new sponsorships brought into the club.

Time Commitment:

The sponsorship volunteer can expect to volunteer 2-3 hours per week from mid-August to mid-November. 

Selection Process:

The Executive Director is responsible for the identification and selection of sponsorship volunteers

Pre-Requisites:

No specific pre-requisites exist for this position. However, sponsorship volunteers need to be comfortable visiting local businesses and presenting sponsorship opportunities.

Club Support:

The club provides a target list of local businesses along with clearly defined sponsorship packages and pricing.
